Tim Pillow

I'm a pedal steel guitar player from Phoenix, Az. I have been playing steel and banjo for 15 years. I have a contemporary style and can adapt to other forms of music such as a classic rock, bluegrass, and some contemporary style jazz. I originally came from a bluegrass background playing banjo as my main instrument. I'm influenced by traditional scruggs style. I have mp3 samples of some session work I have done for local artists.

looking for:

I'm looking for a fiddle player, lead guitar that knows how to chicken pick, and a rhythm guitar player. I'm looking to complete a instrumental CD that features classic country, contemporary country, bluegrass and some classic rock.
I'm also need these instruments to complete backing tracks for live DUO gigs I'm trying to book.

I prefer to trade out services since I don't have a budget to pay musicians at this time.

Roger Bret

Music was always a main focus around my family. My Dad played a lap steel with a little Hawaiian show group in Chicago, and also a 6 string electric when they first came on the market. My Mom sang with the Chicago Opera Co., And was featured in several productions, one as the star lyric soprano on the opera, “Madam Butterfly”. I knew the melody of One Fine Day, long before I heard “Jail House Rock”. Several of the songs on this album are about my friends from the past and present, and they never cease to provide me with new material to write about.
I've written 9 original songs on my album, "A Little Bit Country". They are unique ballads about life and friends from different phases of my life and times. All songs were produced at my recording studio, VECTOR STUDIOS in Laguna Niguel California where I do voice-over work as well. My group, The Other Band is currently playing casual gigs, in the form of weddings, parties, and events, in the local areas of Orange County and Los Angeles Ca. I also performs as a One Man Band, using a digital drummer that has sequenced bass patterns giving the sound of an actual 3 piece band and play harmonica along with it, so he creates 4 actual instrumental sounds. When you add to this mix of instruments the amazing guitar I use called a GUITORGAN, you get a 5th sound of an actual organ. The entire package of entertainment is great for small gatherings, and parties where cost, and available space are of major consideration. If music is not on your list of desired entertainment, I do a stand-up comedy act that is hilarious, and keeps the crowd in "Bent over stitches" as it has been described by many who've seen it.
Since I have been a professional photographer for 20 or more years, I've also been hired to do the still photography at a party and can supply the host with a CD of the photos before leaving the event. My felling is, “Why just stand around on my break when I could be taking pictures of everyone adding to the fun!”

Steve Campbell

Hi , I'm Steve , owner of I.M.P., an agency run for musicians by musicians. I am a seasoned drummer seeking employment and also groups to form, play with and book nationally. I can play bass, keys and sing back up vocals and also collaborate with digital music producers and connect them with other artist within my network. I'm close to being a one stop shop.

II I.P. (intellectual property) taken from the I.M.P. band induction manual.

The answer to questions regarding how I.M.P. works with respect to your intellectual contribution.

Co- writing rule Book

1. Songs written from start to finish are sole property of the writer.

2. No song shall be brought to the table or into the repertoire of scheduled original songs for re-arrangement or recording if it was co written with a member of the band and an outside party. The explicit written consent of the additional co- writers is the only remedy to this clause.

3. Songs arranged by members in addition to the writer(s) are not subject to publishing credits until after the songs are recorded for the purpose of distribution and sale. The recorded version of the song must reflect the influence of clear collaboration and in the witness the collaborators, to include the writers responsible for the works inception (ie those who started the ball rolling with an idea). It is rare but possible for an idea to invoke the plethora of ideas to follow and for those ideas to take precedence and for the original idea to be discarded. The line is drawn firmly in that for the sake of mutual benefit to those involved, that in the passion of collaboration it was an idea given to you that allowed you to better grasp your own contribution (the one the band kept) and for that, you are willing to share in the fruits of that creation. I call it “spark to fire” theory. This might happen when a guitar line sparks the bass line and we keep the bass line. The guitarist clearly pushed the bass player into a place of creativity. This kind of clause also helps almost every collaborator earn a publishing credit for the song and creates a more fair division of wealth between members hence giving all members the same level of ambition and drive to work for their band.

4. Works can be split as many ways as there are co-songwriters. Typically 4 to 6 different people may be on a Songwriting credit.

5. A collaboration would need to include melodic changes to song structure in addition to rhythmic accompaniment. The drum beat is not copy written however arrangement or instrumentation may influence the overall sound of the work. This changes the number of people who influenced the song, it is worthy of consideration. If by chance each member touches the song in this manner, all should in theory split profits from it's broadcast. Again the influence must be substantially more than what a mechanical royalty would cover.

A Production Royalty is usually awarded to the Producer. Production influence can include tonal, Effectual and procedural enhancements in the overall sound at the production stage of the recording project and finished product. This is part of the collaboration process between members. It is integral to the groups survival that credit is given where credit is due. It is important to recognize potential conflicts of interest and work together to avoid or remedy them before problems occur.

It is possible for a member to be the Producer depending upon their financial commitment. If the band splits the cost of the record evenly, the propensity for potential value to sway in the interest of certain members is grossly eminent. This is because the Co-writing credits may naturally favor certain writers as the songs are picked. Since we will vote on what goes to record based on the quality of the song and it’s commercial viability as oppose to whether or not we wrote it, we must think first of the overall final product and put our best songs forward. Often group members make alliances to encourage the production of a song they wrote. Often the band will have third party feedback influence the choice of material. Often the guy flipping the bill has final say. If this person is a band member, that record will reflect a larger influence from that member. The chips will fall where they may. In most cases by the time a song reaches the studio each member has touched the song, but usually only one or two added lyrics. This is a separation of interest in the song. Words and Music means 50% - 50%.

While a lyricist may get 50% of the song, the other five members may have to split 50% of the royalties with the lyricists and a chunk to the Producer for making it all possible. A Publicist will be hired in the event of a commercial Studio Recording.

Engineers are not producers. They will be paid prior to the release of the recording and will not receive a royalty. The person who told him what to do might. Or we will be pool from within the group since several of us have an interest in mixing and post production. I would prefer to keep everything in house.

Wes Lauzen

35 yr old country vocalist, deep rich lows, full midrange, thinner highs, but solid.
Modest bio: I am primarily a singer, but also a lightly skilled rhythm guitarist (strum chords, some simple finger picking). I have never heard anything but praise for my style and vocals though. Placed highly in and won a few contests (one national), played in quite a few shows for fun. No samples posted on the web yet, but will post soon. I do have a few audio examples of my vocals I can email if you would like samples. Do not have home studio per-se, but can do demo recording with vocals and simple guitar accompanyment from lead sheets or sheet music with chords. Could also just record vocal track in mp3 to use with your seperate accompanyment (provided by you for my recording purposes) in a seperate mix. New to this, but am a seasoned, experienced singer.

John O'Reilly

Do you need drum tracks? I'm a professional drummer with a recording studio where I can record high-quality drum tracks for your music. I've played with lots of great artists: fun., The Format, Reubens Accomplice, Mandy Moore, Jimmy Eat World, Rachael Yamagata, Schuyler Fisk, Ben Lee, Percy Jones, Wayne Krantz, and may others. The recording process is extremely simple: you send me a song recorded to a click, I record drums for it, I send you an mp3 for your approval, we make any changes you'd like until you're completely satisfied, then I send you the final full-resolution tracks. I can provide raw multi-tracks if you'll be doing the mixing yourself or a stereo mix (for an extra mixing fee) if you'd rather just drop the drums into your song without having to worry about mixing. Check out my website, listed here, to hear examples of what I can do here at my studio along with lots of other audio/video examples of my playing. Trust me, what I can provide will sound WAY better and more natural than any MIDI drum programming or loop wrangling you can do on your own, and it'll save you A TON of time. My service will cost you a lot less money than going into a studio yourself, since you're only paying me (and not the studio, or the engineer, or cartage, etc.), plus, you don't pay anything until you're completely satisfied with what I've recorded. Getting great-sounding drums on your music is the first step to a professional-grade recording. Don't hesitate! Get in touch with me now and you'll have drum tracks for your music within a few days!! I hope to hear from you...

Samantha Liggins

Samantha Elice Liggins has been singing all her life. She wrote her 1st song when she was only 9 years old. She had her 1st solo when she was 11 years old at Greenwood CME Church. Elice knew from the moment she saw an older girl sing at her church (which she later found out that older girl was K. Michelle) that she was meant to be a singer as well. In that same year she wrote her second song called "It's Time For You and Me To Get Together". Elice also sang in her elementary and middle school choirs. In 2001, she sang in her school talent show with 2 of her good friends. They sung a gospel melody that was also performed by Destiny's Child, Elice's favorite group. The next year she won 3rd place in a local radio station's (K-97) talent showcase. In 2004 she performed for the Grand Opening of the "Boom Boom Room". In 2005 she performed in Southwest Tennessee Community College Talent Showcase. The next year she performed at Issac Hayes Dinner Restaurant and at The Complex representing Rowhajac Records Inc. Later she became a regular performer at the "Soul Cafe". The next move was to make a demo and now that's what she is currently working on. So keep your ears open.

Bohiti

poet – lyricist – songwriter - vocalist

Poetry, spoken word, and musicianship are artistic forces undergoing a remarkable renaissance in the City of Brotherly Love. Bohiti, a part of this renaissance in is known for his poetry and spoken word skills, Bohiti is also a talented graphic artist and a songwriter.

Bohiti’s journey through the Philadelphia cultural renaissance began at a well known haven and incubator for the “soon to be discovered”, known as the Silk City Lounge located in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. There he discovered that Philadelphia was experiencing a resurgence in music, art, poetry and spoken word. Networking proving to be an invaluable competency, Bohiti learned about the October Gallery, an African American owned art gallery in Old City Philadelphia, and was introduced to the poetry/spoken word scene from an African American perspective. Identifying with his Afro-Taino roots, he felt at home amongst some of Philadelphia’s finest rising poets including Rich Medina, Trapeta Mayson and Jill Scott. Becoming a part of the growing scene, Bohiti was a frequent participant in the October Gallery’s poetry gatherings and other events around the city. He now shares his music

Musically reared on the Beatles, James Brown and Hip-Hop, Bohiti is appreciative of the diversity found within the musical language. Bohiti met Jafar Barron, a talented trumpet/cornet player with a rich Jazz upbringing, and was exposed to the Acid-Jazz/Free-Bop sound that Jafar was introducing to Philadelphia club goers. Ultimately, after years of serving as Jafar’s manager, Bohiti was able to contribute to Jafar’s debut album as a leader, entitled, Jafar Barron - The Free Bop Movement (Q/Alafia/Atlantic). Bohiti’s contribution as a songwriter and a vocalist to this now classic CD only fueled his desire to do more musical projects. He has collaborated with Ian Riddle (DJ Jolah) and his Bomb Congress - open mic/breakbeat event held in Old City Philadelphia and has made numerous hosting appearances at BMI’s Wordsmith Sundays in Greenwich Village, New York City. His vocals have been used on tracks made by House music icons Andy Compton, Rob Paine & Willyum, and Kelvin K and seeks more collaborations.

Jonathan Palmer

I have an albums worth of material on my home studio console. I can hear which songs on the radio will be number one or not and i have been tested with it a number of times. I have had this ability since I was young. When I sobered up I realized that most of the music on the radio didnt touch me anymore so I set out, with some proding, to write my own songs. I have had one complaint by a fellow musician (my guitar riff was "too long") but I have also used my songs to get into 2 different bands. I have been trying to get my album recorded for years now but its either funds or time that Im lacking. I ADMIT! I HAVE NO FORMAL TRAINING!!! I cant read music (and so far I refuse to and we can talk about that later) I have passion, creativity, discipline, respect, high standards, and integrity (that last one keeps killing me) If a song sucks I can feel it. If its good (not by mtv standards but by musical and songwriting standards) it moves me. How does an artist give themself a biography? kurt cobain and billy corgan are some of the greatest artists of all time and yet they couldnt sing to save their life but THEY UNDERSTAND ART!!! I UNDERSTAND ART. its a language to me. Im not an entertainer although I am said to be entertaining. I am an artist. It took me a long time to understand that. thats why i cant succeed at anything else. an artist will never be good at a cubicle job. their mind doesnt work that way. we can force ourselves to endure but we will never thrive. i am truly in my element when i can sit down with my guitar or paintbrush and let it go. my soul is satisfied.

Darrell Wallace

My name is Darrell Wallace and I play guitars, as well as a few other instruments including Dobro, lap-steel, mandolin, and a bit of violin. My Grandmother gave me my first guitar when I was six and dragged me on-stage at her Pentecostal Church where I learned to play. In spite of their religious fervor that never quite took with me, those people could Rock! My roots were in gospel bluegrass but eventually morphed into rock and roll, Blues, then classical and fusion.
My first professional recording session was with the legendary Carl Perkins and took place in his home in Jackson, Tennessee. Carl’s youngest son, Greg was bassist in one of my earliest working bands, Capricorn. I played lead guitar in the eight-piece rock fusion ensemble, Pearl, during the late seventies before moving back to Memphis to co-publish Memphis Original Music Magazine with M.T. Kitchens and perform as half the acoustic duo , Slider and Kingfish. After a stint as a studio musician in Nashville and Jacksonville, Florida, I hosted a song writers night at Jacksonville’s Bluebird Club and eventually hosted a weekly live radio broadcast from there called “Live at the Bluebird”. I performed with several nationally recognized acts there, including Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver, Steve Forbert, and Don Oja Dunaway and was front for the road show “Jax Seacattleman’s Association Meetings” with my ensemble “The Seacowboys”. I also toured with a “Cowboy” band and a gang of legitimate cowboy poets and played several performances at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia.
While my influences may lean heavily towards Steve Howe of Yes, Jerry Garcia, David Gilmore, and Ry Cooder, I have a singularly unique approach to acoustic guitars that lends itself quite well to the music I write and perform. I seldom do covers, much preferring to do my own music but if I do cover someone else’s song, it will be as my personal interpretation and never as a parrot. My belief is that if someone wants to listen to a song as done by the original artist, buy the record.
I am a lyricist and a poet and tend to write very dark music with the desired results being to create an emotional impact. I do not wish to play in a venue that places my music as background to some bubba getting laid. That is why I have pulled together The Mississippi River Crooks; we intend to steal your soul.

Shannon Richardson

Shannon Richardson grew up in the Chicago suburbs proving to be quite the artist at a young age. He made his first vocal recordings when he was 4 with his Grandmother and wrote his first short story at the age of six. However it wasn't until around eleven that he got his first guitar. From this point on he began to really practice and learn how to play guitar but it wasn't until several years later that he figured out he could sing and write his own lyrics and write his own original songs with his creative guitar parts. Once Shannon got into the groove of writing tunes music took over his life like a brushfire. He began to devote every available hour writing new songs, polishing his guitar as well as vocal work and learning with every piece of recording equipment he could get his hands on. He went on to write, produce and record many solo albums., Soon he began putting bands together and playing his songs out live wherever he could. He still continues to polish his vocal, songwriting, guitar, performance and recording skills and currently lives and plays in Chicago with his band (Shannon Richardson Band) and is pursuing any worthwhile opportunities he can find. DJ Boudreaux

Recognizing a dearth of music rehearsal facilities in post-Katrina New Orleans, DJ Boudreaux launched Studio 101 NOLA in 2008 to provide an affordable 24- hour access practice space in the heart of the Crescent City. Since its inception, Studio 101 NOLA has hosted bands as diverse as Future Leaders of the World, and Joyful spirit of New Orleans 9th Ward Choir prior to their respective national and world tours. We're also home to long time residents like Big Fat & Delicious, Generationals, and Endall.

The intimate size, central A/C and heat, secure parking loading dock w/ ramp, free WiFi and vintage industrial setting make it an attractive option for local bands, who can choose between hourly rates, monthly co-op packages or lock-out spaces according to their needs and budget. We also offer a recording studio, backline gear rentals and live sound reinforcement for events. We're a funky place for funky people - there's nothing pretentious here. We're just a laid-back place where you can get loud at whatever hour without anyone complaining.

Steve Fowler

Steve began playing the guitar rather late in life, at the ripe old age of twenty-one, immediately after he’d left the home he was raised in, for good, and found himself in the company of three roomies, all who owned guitars. With a few years of piano and violin training from his younger days, the new instrument found eager hands at the ready! In less than a year he was already teaching his first guitar class.

Those were the days when The Beatles were already a household name and the folk music of Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul & Mary types were creating plenty of great repertoire for Steve to learn and play for pay at weddings, parties... and less profitably at other parties, campfires, ad hoc “hootenannies”, park benches, and lowered tail-gates in parking lots, as he hauled around with him his first guitar, a Gibson LGO acoustic folk guitar, practically everywhere he went.

Then came the lottery... the lottery they had to speed up the process of inducting draftees into the military machine that was stoking the fires that were Viet Nam. With lots of time over two years in the Army, Steve got better and better, and jammed with and learned from quite a number of very talented guitarists, and at length, determined his life’s calling was to be a rock’n’roll star!

Diane Johnson

I am into singing & songwriting. I would say I love clever lyrics, catchy tunes, smooth vocals & tight harmonies. Here's what I've been up to this last year:

Singing (lead & backup) for two different groups BELOVED & Denae Garner. Traveled to Nashville & sang backup for Denae Gardner on the nationally released single "RUNAROUND", traveled the Midwest with Denae on the RUNAROUND promotional Radio Tour, recorded RUNAROUND with DAVID Z at BEN FOLD's STUDIO in Nashville.

Also, with Denae, we have been included in shows like the BOISE MUSIC FESTIVAL, opening for acts like CASH'D OUT and Matt Kennon at the KNITTING FACTORY in Boise, as well as Knitting Factory shows with Denae as the headlining act.

BELOVED had it's first release on iTunes of FULLY YOURS, as well as it's first video production. We did many high profile gigs locally this year, including the God & Country Rally.

Songwriting ~ My husband & I write together. You can check out two of our recorded songs, I TRUSTED YOU and FULLY YOURS on my ReverbNation site. We have a couple more in the production stage, and many, many more written.

You can also check out our video on YouTube of FULLY YOURS.

Thanks for checking this out ~ look forward to working together!
